Volunteer with the
Chinchilla Hose Company
Today...Protecting Your Tomorrow

Established in 1956, the Chinchilla Hose Company has been serving our area for over 50 years. Located on Shady Lane Road in South Abington Township, our main station houses Fire, Rescue and Ambulance services. Station 2A is located on Fairview Road and houses a single engine. Responding to over 1,200 fire, rescue and EMS calls per year, our 40 or so dedicated volunteers work to protect the township and surrounding areas as firefighter, emergency medical technicians, or both.

It takes a special person to fill the boots of a volunteer firefighter. Someone with a desire to do something important for the community. Someone with courage and dedication, who isn't afraid of hard work, and is willing to accept the challenge of a difficult job. It takes a person who considers respect and appreciation reward enough and who is glad to help. We have a very special demand for individuals living or working in this area. We might be able to fit you with a pair of boots. If you would like to join Chinchilla Hose Company as firefighter, EMT, or administration support member please contact us.

Men and women of all ages and from all backgrounds form the backbone of our department, each person contributing immeasurable hours per year responding to emergencies, participating in community events and fundraising efforts, seeing to the administrative needs of the department, and countless other tasks. Thanks to citizen participation and community support, the Chinchilla Hose Company looks forward to serving our expanding township well into the future.

We are also looking for young men and women for our Junior Firefighter Program.

Our Junior program is a terrific first step toward becoming a volunteer or career firefighter.
