At approximately 1450 hours on Friday January 8, 2010 Station 2, Ladder 23, CLS 3 and Ambulance 28-9 were dispatched to the 200 block of Scott Road for a reported structure fire.  Chief 2 arrived on scene with in minutes reporting a working fire in a 3 story residential structure and requesting Engine 4 and Tanker 28 to the scene.  After confirming that all residents were out of the building Chief 2 advised all units no one was to enter until proper ventilation could be done.  Engine 2 and Rescue 2 arrived on scene and began to ventilate and prepare to make an attack.  Ladder 23 arrived and went to work assisting with the ventilation.   Crews began to attack the fire and were encountered with “Collyer Mansion” type conditions through out the residence.  Crews found heavy fire on division 2 and 3.  Command requested ALL units out of the structure and the “EVAC” tones be activated.  All units were accounted for and regrouped.  Crews knocked down the bulk of the fire and then went back to an interior operation to complete overhaul and extinguish the hot spots.  Crews cleared the scene at approximately 1759 hours.  Ambulance 2-9 and CLS 3 transported one patient to a local hospital for evaluation.  The PSP Fire Marshal was called to investigate the fire.
