Rescue 2 Special Called to Throop

On Sunday April 4, 2010 after midnight Throop Fire department and Dickson City EMS units were dispatched to the 600 block of Cyprus Street in Throop for a reported porch fire.  Chief 27 requested the structure box be dispatched bringing Engine 23.  Throop Police reported that there was a working fire with extension Chief 27 requested the SRN.  Command request the evacuation tones due to deteriorating conditions on division 2.  After units were able to re-enter the structure they were faced with extensive overhaul.  Command requested Rescue 2 to relocated to Rescue 27 headquarters and standby.  Rescue 2 with Car 2 (Grierson) were called to the scene to assist with picking up supply hose then was returned to service.

Rescue goes to work on another Morgan Hwy crash 03302010

     On Tuesday March 31, 2010 at approximately 1350 hours, as a sleet and snow storm were hitting the area Rescue 2, Car 2, Ambulance 2-9 and CLS 3 were dispatched to the 1100 block of Country Club Road for a motor vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment.  Safety 2 arrived on scene correcting the location as the 1000 block of the Morgan Highway and requested two additional BLS units, an additional ALS unit and the next due rescue.  Rescue 2 arrived and went to work stabilizing the vehicles and beginning to extricate the first patient that was entrapped.  Rescue 4 arrived and assisted with stabilization of the second vehicle and then the crew from Rescue 2 removed the door to make a pathway to remove the patient.  Crews from Ambulance 2-9, Ambulance 4-9 and CLS attended to the patients that were already extricated from the vehicles.  All patients were extricated and in the care of EMS crews in approximately 20 minutes.  Another Good job by all.

Morgan Hwy Crash 03-08-10

     Monday afternoon (March 08, 2010) a rescue box was dispatched for the 500 block of the Morgan Highway for a motot vehicle crash with injuries.  While units were responding South Abington Police arrived on scene reporting multiple vehicles with entrapments.  CLS 3 (ALS QRV)  arrived on scene and immediatley requested additional BLS and ALS units and then requested a second Rescue Company.  Rescue 2 arrived on scene and went to work extricating the first of three patients entrapped.  Crews worked for approximatley 45 minutes before ALL patients were extricated.  In All units worked for an hour and a half, transported 4 patients and obtained 2 refusals.  A GOOD job by all!  Assistant Chief Connolly had Operations and Assistant Chief J. Waters had Command.

 On the Assignment:
Rescue 2, Ambulance 2-9, Car 2, CLS 3, South Abington Police, Clarks Summit Police, Scranton Police, LA 5, LA 10, Rescue 4, Ambulance 4-9, Ambulance 8-9, Ambulance 23-9 and Ambulance 5-9 covered the Abingtons.
