Rescue 2 on 2nd Alarm Fire in Moosic |

On Wednesday February 4th, Rescue 2 and Car 2 were dispatched as part of the 2nd Alarm for a structure fire on the Greenwood section of Moosic Borough as the second due R.I.T.. Rescue 2 responded with 5 and Chief 2A responded with Car 2. Upon our arrival Rescue 2 reversed laid from Ladder 952, who was operating at the rear of the structure to a nearby hydrant (600 feet away). After securing the water supply for Ladder 952, the Rescue crew and Chief 2A, operated at the rear of the structure as the R.I.T. Rescue 23 was also on scene as the R.I.T. assigned to the First Alarm. after a few hours the fire was under control, Command released Rescue 2. |

January 2009 Fire Report Chinchilla Hose Company 13 Automatic Fire Alarms 9 Motor Vehicle Accidents 7 Assists to Station 8 (2 Automatic Fire Alarms, 2 Chimney Fires, 1 CO Incident, 1 Structure Fire & 1 Tire Fire) 2 Assists to Station 28 (1 Good Intent Incident & 1 MVA) 1 Assist to Station 4 (MVA) 1 Assist to Station 5 (Automatic Fire Alarm) 1 Assist to Station 7 (Fill-In Structure Fire) 1 CO Incident 1 Lock-out 1 Oven Fire 1 Smoke Odor Investigation 1 Truck Fire 39 Total Incidents with an average of 7 members per job. Chinchilla Hose Company Ambulance 2-9 was dispatched on 68 EMS jobs in January in addition to dispatches and responses on most Fire Department boxes. |

Assist to Station 8 House Fire |

The Chinchilla Hose Company was called to assist Station 8 on a structure fire Wednesday afternoon. Station 2 was dispatched at 16:51 for a possible fire in the attic at a Milwaukee Road address in Newton Township. Car 2 (Connolly) Engine 2, Tanker 2 and Ambulance 2-9 responded on the working fire. Command 8 declared the fire under control at 17:42. Rescue 28 relocated to Station 2. Numerous other county companies and Luzerne County units covered an Automatic Fire Alarm within Newton Township for Station 8 as they operated on the house fire. All crews returned to service at 19:09 from the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation but appears to have started at the chimney. |
